Kiwi's Not Keen for Free Trade With US

Many kiwis are illustrating their reluctance to be involved in free trade relations with the United States
Many leading kiwis are showing stark resistance to the liberalising of the Overseas Investment Act and therefore the possible Free Trade Agree with the United States.

The National parties budget release has illustrated their opinions to ensuring New Zealand makes a safe recovery out of the current ‘global economic crisis.’

Many well known New Zealander’s have been asked by the Foreign Control of Aotearoa to oppose any actions with regards to opening up New Zealand’s market to the US.

You can find out more about this particular campaign at http://www.nznotforsale.org/

Current signatories to the campaign include:

Jeanette Fitzsimons, co-leader of the Green Party, on behalf of the the Green Party
Prue Hyman, Professor of Gender Studies, Victoria University of Wellington
Trevor Hanson, General Secretary Maritime NZ
To name just a few, this list is apparently increasing day by day

Many believe that this will leave NZ open to market exploitation by the global super power, yet it must also be taken into consideration that the scars of ANZUS are still apparent today, and although relations have been increased to pre-ANZUS levels, the US is still also very reluctant to such an agreement with NZ.
